Effect of irrigation schedules and hydrogel levels on yield and economics of blond psyllium (Plantago ovata)

A field experiment was conducted during the winter (rabi) season of 2018–19 and 2019–20 at Rajasthan College Agriculture, Maharana Pratap University Agriculture Technology, Udaipur, to study effect hydrogel levels under different irrigation schedules on blond psyllium (Plantago ovata Forssk.). The in a split-plot design, comprising 4 schedule, viz. water (IW) : cumulative pan evaporation (CPE) ratio 0.20, 0.30, 0.40 0.50 main plots levels, control, 2.5, 5.0 7.5 kg/ha subplots, combinedly having 16 treatment combinations, which were replicated times. results revealed that an application IW CPE had significant yield attributes, spike length (3.67 cm), seeds/spike (76.05), test weight (1.744 gm) seed (0.767 t/ha), straw (2.609 t/ha) biological (3.376 par with both these ratios significantly improved over 0.30 0.20 years. Both fetched highest net returns `38,658 39,118/ha, benefit: cost 1.05 1.04 respectively. Application resulted (3.66 (74.83), (1.766 gm), (2.555 (3.322 enhanced crop 2.5 control (`39,281/ha) (1.06) as compared control; however, further increase level caused reduction (`37,726/ ha) (0.96) years pooled analysis.
